To coincide with Glasgow International, MLITT Drawing & Painting are pleased to present CLOSE BY a group show of Glasgow School of Art postgraduate students working in the expanded fields of painting and drawing.

This international community of artists have come together as part of a one year, practice led Masters. Working in a diverse range of media including installation, performance, painting, and drawing the artists inhabit two large rooms. Within these rooms they occupy a personal studio space of production and reflection. The individual studio boundaries are porous; the exchange of ideas and conversation created by proximity.

Embedded in the larger community of Trongate and Merchant City area of Glasgow, the work will be installed a stone’s throw from where it was first conceived. Collaboration between the artists themselves and the locale is subliminal. Influence, whether conscious or otherwise, is always close by.
